Co-ordinators

Breda Murphy

EDI Centre Coordinator

A qualified tutor and coordinator with expertise in training and development I believe in Life Long Learning with emphasis on people's experiences and prior learning.

Having achieved a B.A Degree in Business, Enterprise and Community Development I welcome the opportunity to support, encourage and enhance the lives of those furthest from the labour market.

I have extensive experience within the community and voluntary sector working in collaboration with Longford Community Resources CLG, the EDI Centre and other statutory agencies over the years.

Tony Lynch

Pre-Apprenticeship Coordinator

With a Level 7 in Training and Continuing Education, Certificate in Community Development, Certificate in Integrating Literacy, experience in Milling and Turning, 16 years’ experience as a supervisor and tutor at Coolamber National Training Centre and 14 years' experience as coordinator and tutor of the Revamp Training Project I have gained invaluable experience of working with various learners.

During my time as coordinator, the Revamp Training Project was successful in winning the AONTAS Star Award for outstanding contribution to Adult Learning.

I was also instrumental in the setting up of and managing of the Revamp 3RStore from 2004 to 2008 when it became separate from the training programme. I look forward to coordinating this new and exciting venture "Longford Pre Apprenticeship Programme" for many years to come.

Padraig Dooney

Pre-Apprenticeship Assistant Coordinator

With a background in construction I witnessed the need for education and training so I retrained and gained 12 years invaluable experience as both a tutor and assistant coordinator with the Revamp Training Project.

I was also involved in the setting up of the Revamp 3RStore and assisting in it prior to it becoming a separate identity to the Revamp Training Project.

Now with my experience in Milling and Turning I look forward to working alongside my colleagues on the new Longford Pre Apprenticeship Engineering Programme.

I hope we can bring it to a similar success as the AONTAS Star award winning Revamp Training Project.

Elizabeth Durkin

Catering/Lifeskills Coordinator

My background is firmly in catering, having trained in professional cookery when I finished school and subsequently been conferred with a degree in Culinary Arts. I have worked at home and abroad and have held Head Chef positions throughout my career.  Keeping abreast of developments, trends and the requirements of the catering industry is important to me.

Delivering a Catering and Lifeskills Programme at the EDI Centre which prepares trainees for the many available opportunities within that sector is now my primary focus.

Amanda Etherton

Catering/Lifeskills Assistant Coordinator

My career began in hotel management and since joining the EDI Centre in 2015 I hold the position of Assistant Coordinator on the Catering Programme.

Along with several years in the hotel industry, in the past I worked in the car rental and courier businesses both in the U.K. and the Middle East which provided me with the skills to deal with all aspects of Customer Service.

Having qualified in Adult Education I now thoroughly enjoy helping others who wish to pursue a career in hospitality.
