Meals on Wheels in Longford was founded as part of County Longford Social Services in 1971, the service has gone from strength to strength and delivered over 37,000.00 meals in 2021 alone. In addition to the nutritional benefits available through this service, provision is made for social contacts for senior and disabled people living alone.
Vacancy for a Catering Assistant with Meals on Wheels in Longford Town. 19.5 hours per week.
The Community Employment Programme (also known as a “CE Scheme”) is designed to help people who are long-term unemployed get back to work by offering part-time and temporary placements in jobs based within local communities.
Participants on a CE Scheme can take up other part-time work during their placement.
Duties of this post include but are not limited to:
- Prepare food
- Serve food and deal with orders methodically
- Package foods in instructed manner
- Carry out temperature control checks
- Assist with routine cleaning of the kitchen and all equipment and utensils
- Ensure all health, safety and hygiene procedures are implemented and adhered to at all times
- Stock control
