We are delighted to announce that Revamp 3RStore and the EDI Centre are among the first social enterprises in Ireland to secure People & Planet First Verification. This achievement recognises our commitment to putting people and the planet at the heart of everything we do.
People & Planet First is a robust verification mark for social enterprises, recognised globally and adopted in over 130 countries.
The verification focuses on five core standards:
- Purpose: We exist to solve a social and/or environmental problem.
- Operations: We prioritise purpose, people and planet over profit in operational decisions.
- Revenue: We have a self-sustaining revenue model.
- Use of surplus: We reinvest the majority of any surplus towards our purpose.
- Structure: We choose legal structures and financing that protect and lock in purpose long-term.
At Revamp 3RStore, our mission goes beyond simply selling furniture or homeware — it’s about breathing new life into preloved items through repair, restoration, and upcycling. Every item we recreate helps reduce waste, conserve resources, and support a thriving circular economy based on the principles of reduce, reuse, recycle, and recreate. Our projects divert perfectly usable items away from landfill, encouraging a more sustainable and conscious way of living.
As part of the EDI Centre, Revamp 3RStore also promotes social inclusion by providing training, skills development, and work experience opportunities. This empowers individuals in our community to build confidence and gain new skills while contributing to a greener, fairer economy. The People and Planet First verification acknowledges that our work actively supports people — from our staff and volunteers to the learners who train with us — while protecting the environment through sustainable practices.
